How to reach Champorcher

By train:

Turin-Aosta railway line with change in Ivrea or Chivasso.
Railway line Milan-Aosta with change in Turin, Ivrea, or Chivasso.
Stop in Pont-Saint-Martin or Hône-Bard stations.
Final destination served by the local bus connections indicated below.

The Champorcher Valley can be reached by bus from Pont Saint Martin (Railway Station or Piazza IV Novembre) if you are coming from Milan-Turin and from the bus stop in Verres if you are coming from Aosta.

By car:

A/5 Turin-Aosta motorway
The Champorcher Valley is easily reached along the A5 motorway from Turin, Milan, Genoa and Alessandria.

Entering Valle d'Aosta, take the Pont-Saint-Martin exit and follow the state road 26 in the direction of Aosta.

After passing the village of Bard, after about 1 km, turn left at the roundabout and enter the municipality of Hône, then, continuing along the main road, you will come to the villages of Pontboset and then Champorcher.

For those coming from Aosta, take the Verrès exit and follow the state road 26 in the direction of Turin.

After passing the village of Arnad, after about 3 km, turn right at the roundabout and enter the municipality of Hône, then, continuing along the main road, you will come to the villages of Pontboset and then Champorcher.

If you hire a car to come to Champorcher in the winter season, remember:

- To have chains and snow tyres on board, they are compulsory!
- To check that the fuel is alpine or arctic, otherwise it will freeze.
- In the event of snowfall, the road is kept constantly clear but frost is always lurking, so remember to drive carefully.

How to reach Val d'Ayas

By train:
From Turin and Milan with the line towards Aosta. Verres station. Bus from Verrès to Ayas Valley.

By bus:
From the Verres train station, you can take the bus to Saint Jacques. Stops: Challand Saint Victor, Challand Saint Anselme, Brusson, Champoluc.

From Italy: A5 Turin-Aosta motorway to the Verrès tollbooth. Continue along the Ayas Valley Regional Road 45.
From France: through the Mont Blanc tunnel, continue on the A5 Turin-Aosta motorway up to the Verrès tollbooth. Continue along the Ayas Valley Regional Road 45.
From Switzerland: through the Gran San Bernardo tunnel, towards Aosta. Then A5 Turin-Aosta to the Verrès tollbooth. From the Verrès tollbooth, continue along the Ayas Valley Regional Road 45.

How to reach Gressoney

By train:

From the A4 Milan - Turin turn onto the A5 towards Aosta - exit Pont Saint Martin - drive along the SR44 for 37km to Gressoney Saint Jean.

How to reach Alagna Valsesia

By train:

The nearest stations to Alagna are Novara and Vercelli
- from Novara continue by coach (Baranzelli ) or taxi, as far as Alagna or Varallo
- from Vercelli continue by coach (Atap ) or taxi, as far as Alagna or Varallo
- from Varallo to Alagna by taxi or bus

Autolinee Baranzelli. Tickets are purchased on the bus.

VERCELLI-VARALLO-ALAGNA LINE -  Timetables
Line 50 of the ATAP bus service. Tickets can be purchased in Alagna at the Tabaccheria (tobacco shop) and in Varallo at the Station bar.

By car:

From Milan, A4 motorway, junction with A26, direction Gravellona Toce and exit Romagnano Ghemme. Then continue along the SS299 state road to Alagna.

From Turin, A4 motorway, junction with A26, direction Gravellona Toce and exit at Romagnano Ghemme. Then continue along the SS299 state road to Alagna.

From Genoa, A26 Genoa Gravellona Toce motorway, exit at Romagnano Ghemme. Then continue along the state road SS299 for Alagna.

State road SS299 for Alagna is easily travelled and without too many bends. On almost the entire road there is a speed limit of 50 km/h. From Varallo to Alagna is 36 km and takes about 40 minutes. From the Romagnano Ghemme motorway exit, it is 65 km and takes about 90 minutes.

The nearest airports to Alagna: Milan Malpensa 100 km,

There are no direct connections between these airports and Alagna. The most convenient way to reach Alagna is by taxi.
