22nd June 2019 the highest race in Europe is back!
From Alagna Valsesia (1192m) to the peak of Monte Rosa (4554m a.s.l.)

Alagna Valsesia (Piedmont, South side of the Monte Rosa). The highest race in Europe is back to the South Italian Alps, where the skyrunning took place for the first time in 1993.
The past editon had a great success with 300 athletes coming from 23 different countries, who rediscovered the original path to the peak of the Monte Rosa at 4554m a.s.l..

This skyrunning race, the only one in the world, takes place along moraines, snowfields and glaciers for 35 km with 7000 meters of ascents and descents. The athletes race in couples and they are tied to each other for security reasons.

Once again top athletes, international stars of the skyrunning and alpine skiing champions, will join the event for trying to beat the records established in 1994 by Fabio Meraldi (4h24’) and Gisella Bendotti (5h34’).

FURTHER INFO ABOUT ACCOMODATION

ﻩ Your hotel or apartment could be either in Alagna or Riva Valdobbia: you can chose your preferred one among the accomodations that have agreed. They are listed on the visitmonterosa.com e alagna.it websites.

ﻩ The accomodations in Riva Valdobbia will take care of the transportation of athletes and guests to Alagna in the morning and back in the afternoon.

ﻩ On 21st June your room will be available starting from 12.00. On 22nd June your room will be available until 10.30 am but your host will let you use a shower until 5 pm.
