Challand-Saint-Victor

Challand-Saint-Victor

Challant-Saint-Victor is surrounded by chestnut and walnut woods, is located at 765 meters above sea level and has a mild climate in every season of the year. This village was among the first possessions of the noble Challant family, whose historical events are firmly linked to those of the Aosta Valley and for this reason it is easy to observe the ruins and ruins of a bygone era such as those of the Villa Castle which show what remains of a fortress from the 1300s. Not far from the castle it is possible to admire Lake Villa and its nature reserve characterized by a mix of alpine and marsh vegetation. Do not miss the Challand Art path near the Riserva di Villa: it winds along a path that connects the lake to the Arlaz hill, along a splendid forest interspersed with open and panoramic areas suitable for the whole family. Along the path you will encounter unique works of art made with natural materials: earth, leaves, wood, stones, iron.
Challand-Saint-Victor is also home to one of the most beautiful waterfalls in the Aosta Valley, the Isollaz waterfall where the Evançon stream, falling quickly, creates a suggestive sound and visual effect.
