Champoluc

Champoluc

At 1568 meters above sea level, immersed in the glaciers that surround the valley, lies Champoluc, the most renowned tourist resort in Val d’Ayas famous for the km of Monterosa Ski slopes that connect it with Gressoney and Alagna in Piedmont and for  its shops, boutiques, clubs and restaurants that make it the mundane center of the valley.
Champoluc is not just skiing and slopes. It is the perfect starting point for mountaineering ascents on the Monte Rosa group.

Do not miss the hamlets upstream of Champoluc; Mascognaz, Frantze, Crest, Cuneaz, Soussun and Resy renowned for the typical Walser architectural style of the valley. Here you can, in fact, admire the traditional “rascard”, wooden structures from the 1500s resting on mushroom-shaped stone supports that were used as homes by the old valleys, now expertly preserved and sometimes transformed into beautiful accommodation facilities.
