The Modena City Ramblers bring their 2023/2024 Altomare Tour to the Bard Fort. Dudu, Franco, Francesco, Leo and Massimo, the 'commander' Gianluca Spirito on plectrums and the new drummer Enrico Torreggiani will present live, in addition to their historical songs, the new album that gives the tour its title. Eleven songs of life and hope, of proud sailing, of love and resistance. A project that well represents the commitment of the Modena City Ramblers towards the great themes of migration, resistance and freedom and equality and peace, but at the same time highlights the search for new musical styles from Ireland to the shores of the Mediterranean, in a continuous process of renewal and innovation of their production.
The Modena City Ramblers were born in 1991 as an Irish folk group, always in love with the music and traditions of the Emerald Isle. From there, a thirty years full of successes, both from a recording and live tour point of view, in Italy and Europe. After the stop in 2020 which forcibly kept the band away from their fans, accustomed to around 80 dates a year on stage, in 2021 the group returned to celebrate 30 years of career with the same spirit as always, with music and with the extreme closeness to one's audience. In 2022 the Modena City Ramblers kicked off their tour to celebrate "Appunti Partigiani", gold record of 2005 and an important stage in their rich recording career, which in addition to Italy, also touched South Africa in more than 40 dates, Spain, passing through the Sziget Festival in Budapest. Since November 2022 the band has also brought the celebratory tour to Italian clubs. Between March and April 2023 the Ramblers returned to the studio, six years after their last unreleased album.
