Fishing in Valsesia is said to guarantee an extraordinary experience.....may it be because of the variety of the territory, the beauty of the valley, the numerous reserves? To the melt waters of the Sesia glacier on Monte Rosa, those of its tributaries are added along the route downstream, creating a unique river for all water sports. Blades, waterfalls, gorges and gentle depressions alternate in the fishing itineraries, leaving the fishermen breathless and offering corners of unspoilt nature, immersed in silence and lulled only by the sound of the waters.
The Società Valsesiana Pescatori Sportivi di Varallo, which has been the concessionaire of the waters of the Sesia for almost a century, provides for the protection, increase of fish stocks and surveillance.
Its jurisdiction extends from the Pietà bridge in the municipality of Quarona to the source of the Sesia and includes all tributaries and alpine lakes. A modern hatchery plant, which produces five million specimens a year, guarantees an extensive seeding plan of brown trout fry for the global repopulation of the waters under concession.
