At 1,880 metres above Antagnod on the slopes of Monte Zerbion overlooking the Ayas basin and in front of the Monte Rosa glaciers is the Santuario di Nostra Signora di Barmasc. Pope John Paul II visited it in 1990 and a wooden cross was erected.
