Summer 2018 will be remembered as the “season of the building sites”: Monterosa Ski invested in progress with several important works.
The biggest project is the new gondola Champoluc-Crest, in Ayas Valley. Works started in May when the old lift had been dismantled together with the building that hosted the Company’s offices. The new 8-seat lift will be inaugurated in December, granting a hourly flow of 2400 people; in a bit more than 3 minutes it will cover a distance of 1.197 meters and a drop of 397 meters from Champoluc to Crest.
A brand new building hosts the Company Offices: the entrance will now be at a road level, making it easy to access the ticket office and the smart square in front of them. The arrival of the lift will be incorporate to the departure station of the gondola Crest-Alpe Ostafa, creating an interchange station that will guarantee a better experience to skiers.
Great news do also concern the artificial snow: near the departure of the chairlift Bettaforca, on the Ayas side, a huge artificial pond has been created. It will guarantee the cover with artificial snow of the main slopes connecting Frachey to Gressoney.
Also the chairlift Bettaforca and Lago Ciarcerio-Alpe Belvedere have been subjected to important general works of revising.
In Gressoney Valley the greatest news of the coming winter season will be the introduction of two tapis roulant in Sant’Anna: it will become the beginners’ area, perfect to familiarise with skiing.
In Stafal it will be operating the brand new trauma centre: built in cooperation with the Regional Health Department, it will replace the trauma centre located in Gressoney-Saint-Jean. The new location will reduce the timing of intervention and trasportation to the centre, avoiding the ambulance trip to Gressoney-Saint-Jean.
Furthermore, remaining in Gressoney Valley, the chairlift Sant’Anna-Colle Betta has undergone to general works of revising.
In Champorcher the skilift Madeleine and Baby Laris had an extension of their technical life.
In Valsesia the revising of the charlift Scopello-Mera marked the entrance of Alpe di Mera in the Monterosa Ski Group.
Then, in Alagna, 11 cabins have been added to the gondola Alagna-Pianalunga grating a better access to the ski area.
Winter is coming and we’re ready to welcome you on our slopes!
