Ayas is a land where there are inaccessible terrains and apparently inhospitable places that man has known how to populate permanently not in a single centre, but in more than 30 scattered villages. However, the Alpine communities were not isolated groups or societies with a primitive organization and many scholars have studied the signs of their culture in a historical, anthropological and architectural key.
For this reason the widespread museum of Ayas was born, a museum of local history and traditions scattered among the villages that compose it. A journey in all respects, to discover their history and the history of the people who lived there and were able to keep their traditions alive while walking through the villages.
Imagine taking a route on foot or riding a mountain bike and going through every single village and for each of them discovering something you didn't know yet. Visit the oven of Lignod, the mill of Champoluc, the rascards of Antagnod, and for each of them discover the history and hear the traditions linked directly by its inhabitants.
An open-air museum to live an immersive experience in the traditions of Alpine culture, to rediscover the fascinating spirit of mountain places and their history.
