Starting from the 1725 hairpin bend, you can avoid crossing the slopes.

Several itineraries are possible, mainly:
1- The one described in the book "Dal Monviso al Sempione", which avoids crossing the slopes.
2- Cross the slopes, get to the arrival of the Literan lake chairlift, then go up the SW shoulder as per itinerary one.
