This technique represents the fishing tradition in Valsesia. It presupposes a perfect understanding of the angler with nature, the seasons and the territory. Valsesian fly fishing is a world in which fishermen take care of and study every detail: the seasonality, the hatching of insects, the colour and transparency of the water to create with silks of various colours and bird feathers the most suitable insects to attract prey.
Valsesian fly fishing is the result of a set of spontaneous and harmonious gestures, all aimed at presenting the flies in a natural way to the fish. It is an art, where the angler, with a fixed rod, strives to find the right harmony, in a succession of soft and elegant gestures, to carefully place the flies, which to the fish must seem to have fallen from the sky, carried by the current, lazily drowned, hopping and elusive like ephemerals.
