From the quaint little square in Saint Jacques, walk along the asphalt road that runs alongside the Evancon stream to reach the Blanchard houses, cross a small bridge on the left and begin to climb following trail No. 7. The larch forest is the master of these lands, which still remind us of the passage of the ancient glaciers. The gradual thinning of the vegetation and an increasingly crisp air herald the arrival at the Pian di Verra Inferiore, dominated by the splendid mass of Monte Rosa with a view of the "Castore and Polluce" twins and the glacial amphitheatre of Verra. We continue to the end of the plateau following the red snowshoe signs and continue until we reach the Blue Lake embraced by the moraine of the Verra glacier and overlooked by the dark mass of the Rocca di Verra.
