In 2014, Michel Becquet tried to cultivate the vegetable garden, which had not been present as a crop in Ayas for years, and seeing the excellent results, he decided to use it for the production of craft beer.
In 2020, after the success of the first two beers Champoluc I.P.A. and Ayas Pale Ale, produced years earlier in the B36 brewery in Aosta, he managed to open his own brewery in Champoluc and move production there.
To the beers produced at the start, 'Champoluc I.P.A.' and 'Ayas Pale Ale', a third 'Lignod Roggenbier' was added.
Here is a list of their characteristics:
Champoluc I.P.A.: bitter and very hoppy, therefore full-bodied and intense with hints of grapefruit
Ayas Pale Ale: blond with classic German hops that give freshness and character, enhancing the properties of the malt
Lignod Roggenbier: red beer with Weiss-like rye but with a taste of black bread
In addition to these, Michel has decided to expand his product range to include beers flavoured with strawberry, raspberry and genepy, of course, all km0 and sourced from other local producers.
