From the charming little square of Saint Jacques, walk along the paved road that runs alongside the Evancon stream to the houses of Blanchard, cross a small bridge located on the left, and begin to climb following trail No. 7. The larch forest is the master of these lands that still recall the passage of ancient glaciers. The gradual thinning of the vegetation and an increasingly crisp air herald the arrival at the Pian di Verra Inferiore, dominated by the splendid mass of Monte Rosa with views of the twin "Castor and Pollux" and the glacial amphitheater of Verra. Continue until you reach the end of the plateau following the red, snowshoe-friendly signs and continue until you reach Blue Lake embraced by the moraine of the Verra glacier and overlooked by the dark mole of the Verra Rock.
